For those going to this event, remember: 1, David Jeremiah is a very good speaker. 2. Jeremiah attempts to identify the countries mentioned in the Prophetic books of the Old Testament and the Book of Revelation connected with the end of time. 3. While interesting his message is little better than science fiction because he has no concrete evidence on which to base his message. 3. He is dangerous in that he tries to make the point that the countries of the Middle East surrounding Israeli plus Russia are enemies of God. 4. Jesus died to save all people not just the Jews. Dr. Jeremiah duly alarms people while bringing hatred to the countries he mentions in his mis-guided message. 5. Every since J. Frank Norris Fundamentalist Baptist have preached that they can identify the countries mentioned in the Prophetic books of the Bible. They've preached the time of the Rapture is right now which is impossible to know. Luther Butler, student of J. Frank Norris, B.A. Religious Education, Eastern New Mexico with emphasis on end of time prophecy, B.D. End of time battle
Thought on the end of time battle, the reason I want us out of Iraq is that Iran and Russia might come into the fight. If this happens we are going to be involved in a major war. I say pull out to neutral grounds or ships at sea and watch the development. There might be much blood shed in Iraq and again they might settle things peacefully.

TRUE AMERICANS
You are a true first American if you can kill a running buffalo,
Catch and ride a pony without a corral,
Spear a fish from a rushing brook,
Roast it over an open fire and eat it without a fork.
Scalp an enemy with a stone.
Bed a woman without a ring, and raise your kids in a house built of hides.
Worship a God under a starlit sky.
Track a deer in the snow,
Get your squaw to chew the hide to make soft moccasins for you and the kids.
Eat a root and make medicine from a weed.
Survive while illegals from Europe try to kill you with smallpox on a blanket,
While they starve you by killing and scaring the game away,
And when they civilize you put you on a reservation with little water and few game.
After you brought the meat for the first Thanksgiving.
Then when the Big WWII comes give your life as a code talker to preserve the GOOD OLD USA.

REPUBLICANS AND THE ECONOMY
The Republicans are trying to win the coming election on the fact that the economy is strong. It doesn't matter that the economy is strong because since Bush took over the National Debt has ballooned. With billions of dollars being wasted on the Iraq War there are many bucks floating around on war supplies. Also, with so many eligible workers being in Iraq instead of in the work force here at home unemployment is very low. The only thing wrong with the false security caused by the War is that there has to be a payday eventually. When the national debt has to be paid down the poop is going to hit the fan.

C.I.A. Lays Out Errors It Made Before Sept. 11

Published: August 22, 2007
WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 — A report released Tuesday by the Central Intelligence Agency includes new details of the agency’s missteps before the Sept. 11 attacks, outlining what the report says were failures to grasp the role being played by the terror mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and to assess fully the threats streaming into the C.I.A. in the summer of 2001.

Text: Summary of the C.I.A. Report (pdf)
The Lede: Accountability in C.I.A.’s 9/11 Report
VideoMore Video » The 19-page report, prepared by the agency’s inspector general, also says 50 to 60 C.I.A. officers knew of intelligence reports in 2000 that two of the Sept. 11 hijackers, Nawaf al-Hamzi and Khalid al-Mihdhar, may have been in the United States. But none of those officers thought to notify the Federal Bureau of Investigation about the potential domestic threat, the report says, evidence of what it calls a systemic failure.
The inspector general recommended that several top agency officials, including former director George J. Tenet, be held accountable for their failure to put in place a strategy to dismantle Al Qaeda in the years before Sept. 11, 2001. Gen. Michael V. Hayden, the current C.I.A. director, and his predecessor, Porter J. Goss, have declined to seek disciplinary action against Mr. Tenet and others named in the report.
The outlines of the report have been known since shortly after it was completed in 2005, but it had never been made public, and its release reignited a debate about whether the C.I.A. should have done more before the attacks and whether Mr. Tenet and other officials should be held accountable.
Mr. Tenet called many of the report’s conclusions “flat wrong,” and General Hayden noted that many of those criticized in the review by the agency’s inspector general had criticized the “focus, methodology and conclusions” of the report.
Until Tuesday, the report had been kept under wraps by the spy agency, which opposed a public airing of its failures before the Sept. 11 attacks. The summary of the report was released at the insistence of Congress, over General Hayden’s objections, under the terms of a law passed this summer.
The dispute surrounding the report’s release suggests the depth of anger that remains, nearly six years later, over where blame should be assigned for the intelligence failures surrounding Sept. 11. Among the lawmakers who voiced renewed anger at the C.I.A.’s decision not to discipline anyone was Representative Rush D. Holt, Democrat of New Jersey, who is a member of the House intelligence committee.
“Accountability is a concept the American people understand,” Mr. Holt said in a statement, adding, “I am stunned that General Hayden still does not get that message.”
Many of the report’s findings about bureaucratic breakdowns that allowed the 19 hijackers to elude the authorities and carry out the attacks have been documented elsewhere, principally by the Sept. 11 commission, but this report by John L. Helgerson, the C.I.A. inspector, was the first to recommend that top agency officials face a disciplinary review.
The full report by the inspector general, totaling several hundred pages, remains classified. As spelled out in the executive summary that was released on Tuesday, the report found neither “a single point of failure” nor a “silver bullet” that would have allowed the C.I.A. to prevent the Sept. 11 attacks. It found that no agency employee violated the law and that none of their errors amounted to misconduct.
But the report did conclude that C.I.A. resources devoted to counterterrorism had been mismanaged, and that some had been redirected away from Al Qaeda toward other parts of the agency’s clandestine service. It cited “failures to implement and manage important processes, to follow through with operations, and to properly share and analyze critical data.”
The report does not cite the names of the officials who it says “did not discharge their responsibilities in a satisfactory manner,” but it identifies some of them by title. Besides Mr. Tenet, the report criticizes James L. Pavitt, the C.I.A.’s former deputy director for operations; J. Cofer Black, the former director of the agency’s Counterterrorist Center; and other top officials.
Mr. Tenet resigned from the agency in June 2004.
The recommendation that the agency establish an “accountability board” to determine possible disciplinary action was rejected in October 2005 by Mr. Goss, who was the C.I.A. director and who argued that that punishing top officials “would send the wrong message to our junior officers about taking risks.”
The report cited the C.I.A.’s failure to pass intelligence about Mr. Mihdhar and Mr. Hamzi to other agencies as potentially significant. The C.I.A. had identified the men in January 2000 when they visited Malaysia but never notified the State Department to put them on the terrorist watch list.

PREACHER
From Library Journal
Hank is a winner: champion rodeo rider, high school and college athletic star, beloved son, and sweetheart of the beautiful and equally talented Sadie. Growing up on a ranch in eastern New Mexico, he attends college and turns to preaching, not so much because he feels a special calling--in fact, he's a nonbeliever--but because he's so good at it. Hank eventually becomes pastor of one of the largest Baptist churches in Texas, but underneath the successful and self-assured veneer he yearns to discover his true purpose in life. This story of a bull-riding preacher struggling to find himself features out-of-the-ordinary characters and settings. For larger fiction collections.-- Maria A. Perez-Stable, Western Michigan Univ. New look at Middle East
And, another way of looking at it, Carter, Reagan, Papa Bush, and Clinton didn't want to involve us in a dangerous war in the Middle East. They knew them people were dangerous so they backed off even though I also thought an invasion of Iraq would have been a good thing after the great victory of Desert Storm. Right now it appears that Iraq is going to be our end - financially and by the loss of human life on both sides. Perhaps the best solution is to develop alternate fuels and let them Desert Rats drown in their pools of oil. Where are they going to get their money when foreign countries stop pouring money into their dried up countries?

John Hagee is committing adultery
John Hagee condemns homosexuals and people who have abortion. According to his theology he is heading straight to hell because he commits adultery with his second wife who he married after divorcing his first wife.
What did early Christians believe about...?
(Before 400 AD)
Uninspired records of how early Christians worshipped and what doctrine they believed!
Marriage, Divorce & Remarriage
(MDR)
151 AD Justin Martyr "In regard to chastity, [Jesus] has-this to say: 'If anyone look with lust at a woman, he has already before God committed adultery in his heart.' And, 'Whoever marries a woman who has been divorced from another husband, commits adultery.' According to our Teacher, just as they are sinners who contract a second marriage, even though it be in accord with human law, so also are they sinners who look with lustful desire at a woman. He repudiates not only one who actually commits adultery, but even one who wishes to do so; for not only our actions are manifest to God, but even our thoughts" (First Apology 15).
208 AD Clement of Alexandria "That Scripture counsels marriage, however, and never allows any release from the union, is expressly contained in the law: 'You shall not divorce a wife, except for reason of immorality.' And it regards as adultery the marriage of a spouse, while the one from whom a separation was made is still alive. 'Whoever takes a divorced woman as wife commits adultery,' it says; for 'if anyone divorce his wife, he debauches her'; that is, he compels her to commit adultery. And not only does he that divorces her become the cause of this, but also he that takes the woman and gives her the opportunity of sinning; for if he did not take her, she would return to her husband" (Miscellanies 2:23:145:3).
248 AD Origen "Just as a woman is an adulteress, even though she seem to be married to a man, while a former husband yet lives, so also the man who seems to marry her who has been divorced does not marry her, but, according to the declaration of our Savior, he commits adultery with her" (Commentaries on Matthew 14:24).
300 AD Council of Elvira "Likewise, women who have left their husbands for no prior cause and have joined themselves with others, may not even at death receive communion" (canon 8).
387 AD Ambrose of Milan "No one is permitted to know a woman other than his wife. The marital right is given you for this reason: lest you fall into the snare and sin with a strange woman. 'If you are bound to a wife do not seek a divorce'; for you are not permitted, while your wife lives, to marry another." (Abraham 1:7:59).
389 AD Ambrose of Milan "You dismiss your wife, therefore, as if by right and without being charged with wrongdoing; and you suppose it is proper for you to do so because no human law forbids it; but divine law forbids it. Anyone who obeys men ought to stand in awe of God. Hear the law of the Lord, which even they who propose our laws must obey: 'What God has joined together let no man put asunder"' (Commentary on Luke 8:5).
398 AD Jerome "Wherever there is fornication and a suspicion of fornication, a wife is freely dismissed. Because it is always possible that someone may calumniate the innocent and, for the sake of a second joining in marriage, act in criminal fashion against the first, it is commanded that when the first wife is dismissed a second may not be taken while the first lives" (Commentaries on Matthew 3:19:9).

THE END OF THE WORLD IS HERE
Chicken Little started in by shouting, "The sky is falling down," now the TV Evangelist have taken up the cry that the world is coming to an end, and Christ is coming back. The proof, Israeli and Lebanon are at war.
Preachers like John Hagee (San Antonio) seem easy to ignore because we think their audiences, while vast, consists of rank-and-file religious extremists who have no real sway over American policy-makers. But Benny Elon’s statement shows that Hagee does have such influence. Gingrich and McCain may or may not believe the Second Coming is imminent, but they do know that a GOP primary presidential campaign is coming soon enough, and they know where the votes are.

DANGEROUS DRUG
My Name: "Is Meth"
I destroy homes, I tear families apart,
take your children, and that's just the start.
I'm more costly than diamonds, more precious than gold,
The sorrow I bring is a sight to behold.
If you need me, remember I'm easily found,
I live all around you - in schools and in town
I live with the rich; I live with the poor,
I live down the street, and maybe next door.
I'm made in a lab, but not like you think,
I can be made under the kitchen sink.
In your child's closet, and even in the woods,
If this scares you to death, well it certainly should.
I have many names, but there's one you know best,
I'm sure you've heard of me, my name is Crystal Meth.
My power is awesome; try me you'll see,
But if you do, you may never break free.
Just try me once and I might let you go,
But try me twice, and I'll own your soul.
When I possess you, you'll steal and you'll lie,
You do what you have to -- just to get high.
The crimes you'll commit for my narcotic charms
Will be worth the pleasure you'll feel in your arms, your lungs your nose.
You'll lie to your mother; you'll steal from your dad,
When you see their tears, you should feel sad.
But you'll forget your morals and how you were raised,
I'll be your conscience, I'll teach you my ways.
I take kids from parents, and parents from kids,
I turn people from God, and separate friends.
I'll take everything from you, your looks and your pride,
I'll be with you always -- right by your side.
You'll give up everything - your family, your home,
Your friends, your money, then you'll be alone.
I'll take and take, till you have nothing more to give,
When I'm finished with you, you'll be lucky to live.
If you try me be warned - this is no game,
If given the chance, I'll drive you insane.
I'll ravish your body, I'll control your mind,
I'll own you completely, your soul will be mine.
The nightmares I'll give you while lying in bed,
The voices you'll hear, from inside your head.
The sweats, the shakes, the visions you'll see,
I want you to know, these are all gifts from me.
But then it's too late, and you'll know in your heart,
That you are mine, and we shall not part.
You'll regret that you tried me, they always do,
But you came to me, not I to you.
You knew this would happen, many times you were told,
But you challenged my power, and chose to be bold.
You could have said no, and just walked away,
If you could live that day over, now what would you say?
I'll be your master, you will be my slave,
I'll even go with you, when you go to your grave.
Now that you have met me, what will you do?
Will you try me or not? It's all up to you.
I can bring you more misery than words can tell,
Come take my hand, let me lead you to hell.

OpinionJournal - Featured Article: "Musings About the Drug War
Do you favor decriminalizing marijuana, cocaine and the like?
BY GEORGE MELLOAN
Sunday, February 26, 2006 12:01 a.m. EST
Economist Milton Friedman predicted in Newsweek nearly 34 years ago that Richard Nixon's ambitious 'global war against drugs' would be a failure. Much evidence today suggests that he was right. But the war rages on with little mainstream challenge of its basic weapon, prohibition.
To be sure, Mr. Friedman wasn't the only critic. William Buckley's National Review declared a decade ago that the U.S. had 'lost' the drug war, bolstering its case with testimony from the likes of Joseph D. McNamara, a former police chief in Kansas City, Mo., and San Jose, Calif. But today discussion of the war's depressing cost-benefit ratio is being mainly conducted in the blogosphere, where the tone is predominantly libertarian. In the broader polity, support for the great Nixon crusade remains sufficiently strong to discourage effective counterattacks.
In broaching this subject, I offer the usual disclaimer. One beer before dinner is sufficient to my mind-bending needs. I've never sampled any of the no-no stuff and have no desire to do so. So let's proceed to discuss this emotion-laden issue as objectively as possible.
The drug war has become costly, with some $50 billion in direct outlays by all levels of government, and much higher indirect costs, such as the expanded prison system to house half a million drug-law offenders and the burdens on the court system. Civil rights sometimes are infringed. One sharply rising expense is for efforts to interdict illegal drug shipments into the U.S., which is budgeted at $1.4 billion this fiscal year, up 41% from two years ago."

San Bernardino County Sun - News: "Slayings tied to cartels
More than 1,800 deaths reported
Sara A. Carter and Edward Barrera, Staff Writers
Usually glossed over in the debate about illegal immigration and border security is a seemingly endless battle fought in rural Mexican border towns, cities and political circles.
And like any battle, this one has casualties.
Since January 2005, more than 1,800 slayings have been tied to drug cartels in Mexico, according to the Mexican newspaper El Universal.
Mexican police do not keep a tally of narcotics killings, but according to El Universal, at least 176 people were killed in January alone. High-profile assassinations of law-enforcement officials are the latest manifestations of the war, according to experts.
'Intimidation, violence and death is the result of speaking out against the cartels,' said Hardrick Crawford Jr., a former special agent in charge of the FBI's El Paso field office. 'Sometimes it's better to say nothing at all.'
The slayings, though stunning in their number and frequency, certainly aren't anything new. Those who deal in drugs on the border have for years risked death on a near-daily basis. So have those trying to catch the drug-runners."

frontline: drug wars: the business: colombian traffickers | PBS: "After the destruction of both the Cali and Medellin cartels, the cocaine business began to fragment. Younger lieutenants realized that the large organizations had been more vulnerable to attack by US and Colombian authorities. They formed smaller, more controllable groups and began compartmentalizing their responsibilities. One group simply smuggles the drugs from Colombia to Mexico. Another group controls the jungle labs. Yet another deals with transportation of coca base from the fields to the labs. There are well known links between the Colombian Marxists guerilla groups and the cocaine trade. Guerillas protect the fields and the labs in remote zones of Colombia in exchange for a large tax that the traffickers pay to the organization. In turn, the Colombian right wing paramilitary groups are also thought to control both fields, labs and some of the smuggling routes. This situation has been disastrous for Colombia - both sides in an on-going civil war are able to reap huge profits from the drug industry which are then turned into guns for further fighting."

The Palestine Herald, Palestine, Texas--Area law authorities plan drug war strategy: "The effect of that shift in philosophy at the federal level is that rural law enforcement agencies such as the Anderson County Sheriff's Office and the Palestine Police Department are now forced to either seek new methods of funding or reduce their efforts in fighting the trafficking of illegal narcotics.
'I understand from a national standpoint for the security of our country,' Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor said of the federal shift. 'I think they're going to find in the rural areas like East Texas that drug dealers are our terrorists.'
Still, Taylor said drug dealers and concerned, law-abiding citizens alike can rest assured of at least one thing. Local law enforcement authorities will continue to commit financial and human resources to wage the war on drugs.
'I don't consider it a victory for them (drug dealers),' Taylor said. 'We will adapt and overcome. It's not the end of narcotics enforcement by any stretch of the imagination."

Former diver wants to see youth drug use plunge: "'For the amount of money we're spending to lock up kids, we could be sending two (of them) to the most expensive colleges in the United States,' he said, adding that of the over two million Americans in prison today, about 90 percent of them are there because of drug-related crimes.
Drug-related accidents are the number one killer of high school students, said Arrington, whose life with a drug mafia was turned into the double gold award-winning film, 'Out of the Night.'
'It's tough to be a kid and have all these drugs and negative choices being hurled at them,' he said.
Arrington said the number one way drugs are introduced to kids are through their peers, but the second most common way is by their family. Last year 20% of the youths doing drugs claimed they were introduced to them by their parents. 'If you can find that spark (in children) for wanting to learn, you can save the life of that child,' Arrington said, and that change can only be achieved by challenging youths to assume leadership roles.
According to U.S. Department of Justice Statistics, 88.9 percent of high school students in 1999 reported they could easily obtain marijuana, 58.1 percent could easily obtain amphetamines, and 47.6 percent said they could easily obtain cocaine. The numbers fall slightly for the ease of obtaining LSD, crack and barbiturates.
Arrington said he would like to see college students get involved in the crackdown on drugs "

InfoFacts - High School and Youth Trends: "Trends in Use
Since 1975, the Monitoring the Future Survey (MTF) has annually studied the extent of drug abuse among high school 12th-graders. The survey was expanded in 1991 to include 8th- and 10th-graders. It is funded by NIDA and is conducted by the University of Michigan's Institute for Social Research. The goal of the survey is to collect data on 30-day, annual, and lifetime* drug use among students in these grade levels. This, the 30th annual study, was conducted during 2004. (1)
Decreases or stability in use patterns were noted for the most part from 2003 to 2004. However, for the second year significant increases in inhalant abuse were seen among 8th-graders. Even a single session of repeated inhalant abuse can disrupt heart rhythms and cause death from cardiac arrest or lower oxygen levels enough to cause suffocation. Regular abuse of inhalants can result in serious damage to vital organs, including the brain, heart, kidneys, and liver. Please visit www.inhalants.drugabuse.gov for more information on the health effects of inhalants."

DRUG USE
Drug use is increasing in public schools. Some leading citizens are passing out drugs to students. Once the students are hooked, the drug dealers use them to peddle drugs to their classmates. This pratice started out wint high school students in one particular school, next it spread to junior high school students. Now these dope dealers are trying to introduce it into the lower grades. In one case a leading lawyer was the king pin. Once he got the students hooked, he defended them when they were arrested.

United States Releases Plan To Combat Illegal Drug Use in America
United States Releases Plan To Combat Illegal Drug Use in America: "National Drug Control Strategy urges balance between reducing demand and supply
The 2006 White House National Drug Control Strategy calls for a balance between reducing the demand and supply of illegal drugs in the United States -- and also outlines proven programs to combat substance abuse, according to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP).
The 2006 National Drug Control Strategy was released February 8. Highlights of the strategy include support for innovative drug prevention campaigns, more support for random student drug testing and support for screening, brief intervention, referral and treatment.
Other initiatives in the plan include support for drug courts, targeting methamphetamines, support for transit-zone interdiction and securing the U.S. Southwest border."

According to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, '[T]he value of the global illicit drug market for the year 2003 was estimated at US$13 bn [billion] at the production level, at $94 bn at the wholesale level (taking seizures into account), and at US$322bn based on retail prices and taking seizures and other losses into account. This indicates that despite seizures and losses, the value of the drugs increase substantially as they move from producer to consumer"
"Between 1989 and 1998, American users spent $39 billion to $77 billion yearly on cocaine and $10 billion to $22 billion yearly on heroin. To arrive at these estimates, we multiplied the number of users by their typical expenditures, and then converted the resulting estimates to 1998-dollar equivalents. Most of the downward trend results from changes in the consumer price index."

HARRIET MIERS IS A CHURCH HOPPER
President Bush stated that Harriet Miers is very stable in her views, and she will be the same tomorrow as she is today. Her membership in various church denominations does not show this stability. How much can a person change from a Roman Catholic to a charismatic? I for one am very suspicious of her credetials. I think Bush is trying to appease the extreme Religious Right, and he doesn't care who he appoints.
Miers Gets Standing Ovation at Church
Supreme Court Justice nominee Harriet Miers arrives for church services at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Dallas, Sunday, Oct. LM OTEROOctober 10, 2005 8:28 AM EDT
DALLAS - The buzz among members of the breakaway evangelical group called Cornerstone Christian Church normally is focused on the congregation's future.
On Sunday, the buzz centered instead on fellow church member and Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers - and then she showed up.
Miers, 60, slipped quietly into services after attending a more publicized worship at an Episcopal church near downtown Dallas.
When Cornerstone minister Ron Key called attention to her presence, the 150 worshippers gave her a standing ovation, their claps echoing through the hotel ballroom that temporarily houses the church's weekly services.
Key asked his audience to understand "the crucible of pressure that Harriet is about to be exposed to," acknowledging her arrival after the service began. He called on members to pray for her every day.
The scene marked a stark contrast to the services Miers attended at the Episcopal church, where she wasn't mentioned during an hourlong service she attended with family members.
For years, Miers has been a member of Valley View Christian Church, but she and about 150 of its 1,200 active members have formed the separate congregation after a disagreement about worship styles.
Valley View is part of a movement known as Christian Churches and Churches of Christ. These conservative congregations grew from a reform movement in the 19th century that aimed to break down denominational barriers among Christians.
Texas Supreme Court Justice Nathan Hecht, who has dated Miers and has been frequently quoted on her views, also is part of the breakaway group and was the pianist Sunday.
"Nathan is going to write a new book about dating. I think Harriet's going to co-author it," Key said, drawing loud laughter from the congregation.
Miers sat by herself at the Valley View service. Earlier Sunday, she was surrounded by family, including her brother, at the Church of the Incarnation.
At both services, Miers avoided reporters' questions and flashed a broad smile. "Nice to see you," she responded on her way into the Episcopal service when asked if she was surprised by negative reaction to her nomination by some prominent conservatives.
Cornerstone worshipper Ron MacFarlane, a Dallas lawyer, said he saw no obstacles to Miers' confirmation.
"She's an independent thinker," MacFarlane said. "Whatever you think about her religious beliefs or her faith, she can separate that" from her professional life.
At the same time, he said Miers' dedication to the church made it unsurprising that she made room in her schedule for the Cornerstone service.
"Her faith is, I think, her biggest priority," MacFarlane said. "Today's just a demonstration of it."
Key included Miers in the congregation's prayers and mentioned members of Congress, asking God to "guide their questions and their inquiries." He did not use her name during his sermon.
After both services, she greeted friends and worshippers with hugs and smiles.
Miers has attended services before at the Church of the Incarnation, and several people in her family are members, according to White House officials. When in Washington, she attends St. John's Episcopal Church near the White House, which Bush also attends.
As a child, Miers attended Roman Catholic and Protestant churches. In 1979, she was baptized at Valley View, and she later taught Sunday school classes there.

Mohler in Time Magazine:
Creationism and Evolution are Incompatible
LOUISVILLE, Ky. — You can believe the Christian truth claims about creation and you can believe Darwinian evolution, but you cannot logically believe both. That is the conclusion expressed by R. Albert Mohler Jr., president of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, in the August 15 issue of Time Magazine. Mohler is one of four scholars featured in a forum addressing the question “Can You Believe in God and Evolution?” The article is part of the magazine’s cover story “Evolution Wars” on the controversy over Intelligent Design.
In the article, Mohler says the belief in both Divine creation and evolution is inconsistent.
“Given the human tendency toward inconsistency, there are people who will say they hold both positions,” said Mohler. “But you cannot coherently affirm the Christian-truth claim and the dominant model of evolutionary theory at the same time.”
Mohler goes on to say that he is a “young-Earth creationist” and that the most natural reading of the Bible points to a six-day creation. He points out that even the most ardent academic defenders of evolution are moving from any claim that evolution was God’s means of bringing life into being.
“More of them are saying that a truly informed belief in evolution entails a stance that the material world is all there is and that the natural must be explained in purely natural terms. They're saying that anyone who truly feels this way must exclude God from the story. I think their self-analysis is correct. I just couldn't disagree more with their premise.”
The August 15 edition of Time is currently on newsstands and also available on the web at www.time.com.

LUTHER BUTLER'S THOUGHTS
How quickly Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has evolved from a seminary geared to reach the educated population to a teaching place to reach morons. When I received my degree in the '50s from Southern, some of the professors were making a stab at reconciling scientific thought and theological education. Dr. Mohler seems reconciled in tearing down any bridge that was established. Is Mohler saying no person who believes in evolution theories can also be a Christian? I must say that this president has made me ashamed of saying I have a degree from Southern. The theory of evolution has unanswered questions, but so does creationism with its idiotic conclusions like the people at the Creationist Museum at Glen Rose, Texas have raised. When these pseudo-scientist have to fake evidence that humans and prehistoric animal roamed the Paluxy River together, what is this world coming to? Perhaps the genius Mohler, who might have taken a course or two in one of the earth scientist courses, should explain his theory on how the world was created. Certainly God had a hand in it, but I doubt if He did it in six days instead of billions of years. I have some friends who believe in the theory of evolution who have a greater understanding of what Christ taught than does the whole faculty of SBTS. Luther Butler

RED NECK PHILOSOPHY USRSF
A friend sent me this bit of wisdom, which made me, think of why when Afghanistan was fighting the Russians, they were heroes, but now they are criminals. The Taliban was partly trained by CIA agents. The Taliban is made up of terrorist that should be put out of commission, but do we have to kill the citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan to do it? Now to what Red Necks think about the situation.
The Pentagon announced today the formation of a new
500 man elite fighting unit called the USRSF.
"US Redneck Special Forces".
These North Carolina, Kentucky, West Virginia,
Mississippi, Missouri,
Arkansas, Georgia, Texas, and Tennessee boys will be
dropped into Iraq and have been given the following facts about
Terrorists:
1. The season opened today.
2. There is no limit.
3. They taste like chicken.
4. They don't like beer, pickups, country music, or Jesus.
5. They are DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for the death of Dale Earnhardt.
This mess in Iraq should be over in a week.

THE END OF THE WORLD
Gordon Robinson, son of Pat Robinson, spoke on alternate energy. It is good to hear him try to bring some sense to the over use of petroleum products. The Robinsons as well as the entire Charismatic group are constantly talking about the Rapture and the end of the world when the fire of God breaks out. Certainly the Bible is their source, but I am not as worried about the Biblical account of the end of the world as I am of industrial waste products polluting the air, land, and water until there will be a catastrophe worse than the wrath of God that the "Holy Rollers" are preaching. We live in a giant aquarium that depends on a balance of nature to keep things going. The Oceans are being depleted of sea life by industrial waste. Coral reefs are dying. Fish are not as plentiful as they were fifty years ago. Sea mammals such as whales are going down the drain. If the aquatic animals go, I am afraid the balance of nature will be so upset that eventually life as we know it on Planet Earth will end. The solution: perhaps it is for those who are so worried about abortions and gays to turn their preaching about ways to keep our planet alive. What God does cannot be controlled, but what we do can be controlled.

THE RELIGIOUS RIGHT
RELIGIOUS RIGHT AND GOVERNMENT
Suddenly what started out in the 1930’s as the Holy Rollers has developed into the Charismatic Movement. People such as Oral Roberts and Pat Robertson made millions by preaching a gospel of healing and making big bucks. As if it was not bad enough for the millionaires to contaminate the Gospel of Jesus Christ with fallacies, they have taken over the Republican Party. Working from the premises that the Founding Fathers intend the original Thirteen to be a new nation ruled by God. The truth of the matter is that the Colonies broke away from English rule to do away with laws partially drawn up by the Church of England that totally backed the Kings of England.
Sadly to say, the Christian Church in the Colonies was not perfect. Nathaniel Hawthorne in The Scarlet Letter, painted a grim picture of a hypocrite who tried to rule the affairs of a New England township. Church leaders burned witches at the stake, and placed people who did not keep the Puritanical Laws in stocks so the good church people could make fun of and throw things at them. Roger Williams put up with this for a short time and then started the new colony of Rhode Island before he broke entirely with the new churches of our founding fathers.
With the first election of George W. Bush, the government stopped being a protector of the rights of all the citizens of the United States and began to take away privileges that “Liberals” had fought years to obtain. Only those who claimed to be washed in the blood of Jesus were supposed to be leaders in the land. The sad thing about these modern money-grabbing Christians is that they are not much better than the rest of the citizens they are trying to govern. The most flagrant breaker of the Commandments was proven to be using the service of ladies of the evening.
After the Religious Right manipulated the polls the first time, they really jumped on Bush’s intolerant bandwagon. Forgetting that the United States is made up of such a diverse number of ethnic and religious groups they have made the Pentecostal gospel the basis for laws to rule the land. Instead of supporting the public schools, they have poured millions of dollars into private religious schools that have not always met the academic standards of the schools they have replaced.
The sad thing about the Religious Right takeover, illegal drugs are still rampant. Our most promising youth from the best families are rotting in prisons for possessing small quantities of drugs while the big drug dealers are living in mansions.Young girls are still getting pregnant out of wedlock, and the only thing the Right-Wingers can do about the situation is to try to do away with abortions.
Right to Life is the big slogan while at the same time the government is not only slaying innocent Muslims, it is causing the death and maiming of thousands of our people in the Armed Forces. Without remembering that those in our Colonies who broke away from the rule King George were considered terrorist, they have tried to force our government on other nations, and the Religious Right have made our military into a juggernaut that is rolling over others with different thoughts.
THE GOLDEN RULE THAT JESUS PREACHED IS “Whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them.” Matthew 7:12. Those who carried out 9/11 did not follow this rule, but were the Terrorist involved the maimed and dead children of Iraq and Afghanistan? In fact, the main instigated of the infamous blowing up of United States buildings and people is still roaming freely.
FUNDAMENTALIST BAPTIST CREED of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
1. Thou shalt think only thoughts that are approved by President Mohler and Calvin.
2. Thou shalt believe that the world was created in the year 4004 BC without evolution.
3. Thou shalt hate homosexuals because they are going to Hell.
4. Thou shalt vote against abortions.
5. Thou shalt vote straight Republican.
6. Thou shalt believe that everything President George Bush does is from God no matter how inhumane his orders are.
7. Thou shalt not do a critical study of the Bible because it was dictated by God without error.

Christian Idiots
This is an answer to focus on the family
Focus on the Family. 1. Jobs are hard to find. 2. Thousands of our military people have been wounded or killed in a senseless war. 3. Retired people may lose their pensions. 4. Our schools are in trouble, and tuition at university level has soared. We have an idiot in the White House and a bunch of religious nuts keeping him there. We need judges who will make sure every American has their rights instead of a bunch of holy rollers who lost their sense. I pray that Democrats will be able to hold you idiots in your place until real Americans are in office once again. Luther Butler

Subject: How You Can Help End Judicial Filibusters
There's Still Time to Help
End Judicial Filibusters
News reports indicate it could be just a matter of days until an attempt is made by the Senate's Republican leadership to enact the "constitutional option" to end judicial filibusters.
The plan -- to restore Senate tradition by once again making 51 votes sufficient to confirm a nominee to the federal bench -- is staunchly opposed by the same Democrats who have abused filibusters for the past four years to block some of President Bush's appeals court nominees. This obstructionism, unprecedented in U.S. history, is being carried out by liberals simply because they don't want men and women who believe in strictly interpreting the Constitution to be confirmed.
What kind of judges do the liberals want? Those like the ones who allowed Terri Schiavo to be starved and dehydrated to death. Those like the ones who don't believe it should be illegal for abortionists to suck the brains out of nearly delivered children. Those who have ruled to overturn the traditional definition of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Those who believe pornography showing women being raped, mutilated and defecated upon is protected by the First Amendment -- but the Ten Commandments are not.
Please take a moment to contact your two U.S. senators to express your support for the "constitutional option." For contact information visit the CitizenLink Action Center and type your ZIP code into the space provided.
It is particularly important for you to make your views known if you are represented by any of the senators listed below, who have been identified by family advocates as key to the enactment of the constitutional option. Hurt by Texas Department of Agriculture
Disulfoton is an insecticide manufactured by Bayer Chemical Company http://pmep.cce.cornell.edu/profiles/insect-mite/ddt-famphur/disulfoton/disulfoton_receipt_102.html My job with the Texas Department of Agriculture required that I work with cotton seed treated with Disulfoton. Due to errors on the part of Texas cotton seed sellers and the makers of Disulfoton, the seed tested was not properly labeled, and there was no odor added to warn the workers that they were working with a toxic material. My fellow workers in the seed testing facility left treated seed waste in a hot room. Luther Butler

Hurt by Texas Department of Agriculture
Disulfoton is an insecticide manufactured by Bayer Chemical Company. This is a disjointed blog about my experience after being hurt after breathing Disulfoton in a hot room. I hope no one else has had similar experiences, but from my experience, the State of Texas has no sympathy for those hurt by chemicals on seed being tested. Disulfoton is a very dangerous chemical that should never be brought into a building. Previously, for twenty something years I had worked with cottonseed treated with this chemical, but until we got a toxic hood, I took the seed outside and then sealed the germination tests in plastic. If other states are like Texas, a state employee hurt by a chemical stands about the same chance as a snowball in hell of getting medical compensation much less Workman Compensation. In my case, everyone from State Senator R. Glasgow on down, fought me. Both of my eyes developed cataracts within weeks after the exposure, and doctors were afraid to remove them because of potential damage by the operation. I have been helped by implants, but I will never trust my eyes enough to try driving. The damage to my all ready damaged spinal column will never stop hurting, nor will I ever be able to walk without every step hurting. Luther Butler, Stephenville, Texas

SUMMARY: Exposure to disulfoton happens mostly from breathingcontaminated air, drinking contaminated water, and eating contaminatedfood. High exposures can cause harmful effects on the nervous system.Disulfoton has been found in at least 7 of the 1,430 National PrioritiesList sites identified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). What is disulfoton? Disulfoton is a manufactured substance used as a pesticide tocontrol a variety of harmful pests that attack many field and vegetablecrops. It does not occur naturally. Pure disulfoton is a colorless oilwith an unidentifiable characteristic odor and taste. The technicalproduct is dark yellowish, with an aromatic odor. Common trade names areDi-syston, Disystox, Frumin AL, and Soilvirex. Use of trade names is foridentification only and does not imply endorsement by the Agency forToxic Substances and Disease Registry, the Public Health Service, or theU.S. Department of Health and Human Services. It is used to protect small grains, sorghum, corn, and otherfield crops; some vegetables, fruit, and nut crops; and ornamental andpotted plants against certain insects. Although it is used mostly inagriculture, small quantities are used on home and garden plants, andfor mosquito control in swamps. The use of disulfoton has decreased inrecent years. .
What happens to disulfoton when it enters the environment? a.. Disulfoton enters the environment when it is applied onfield crops, vegetables, potted plants, and home gardens. b.. Disulfoton is found mainly in soil and water. c.. Natural chemical reactions and bacteria remove it from soiland water. d.. Fish accumulate disulfoton in their bodies. e.. Disulfoton binds moderately to soil and typically does nottravel deep into soil with rainwater. f.. In water, it takes about 7 days for half of it to breakdown. g.. In soil, it takes about 3.5-290 days for half of it tobreak down, depending on soil type, moisture, and temperature. .How might I be exposed to disulfoton?
a.. Breathing contaminated air, drinking contaminated water, and eating contaminated food. b.. Living near hazardous waste sites where it is found. c.. For children, touching or eating soil at or near hazardouswaste sites that contain disulfoton. d.. Working in fields where it is sprayed. e.. Working in industries that manufacture and formulate it. f.. Using it in your home or garden. .
How can disulfoton affect my health? In people, disulfoton mainly causes harmful effects to thenervous system. Depending on the amount of disulfoton that enters thebody, effects on the nervous system, such as narrowing of the pupils, vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, difficulty in breathing, tremors, convulsions, and even death may occur. These effects can occur if youbreathe in, ingest, or touch disulfoton. If you ingest disulfoton fromfood or water for long periods, it may affect your eyes and you maybecome nearsighted. You may become weak and tired after skin contactwith disulfoton. Ingesting high levels of disulfoton can cause similar nervoussystem (neurologic) effects in animals. Animals that ingested disulfotonfor long periods became nearsighted, and the structures of their eyeswere damaged. We do not know whether disulfoton causes reproductive or birthdefects in people. Some animals that ingested disulfoton duringpregnancy had newborns with underdeveloped bones, damaged livers andkidneys, and underdeveloped testes. .How likely is disulfoton to cause cancer? The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), theInternational Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), and the EPA have notclassified disulfoton as to its ability to cause cancer. We don't know whether disulfoton will cause cancer in people. Nostudies in people are available, and animals that ingested disulfotonfor long periods did not develop cancer. . -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dear Mr. Butler:Thank you for contacting the Office of the Attorney General. I have had two cataract operations. I stillcannot drive a car because of damage to my eyes. I have difficultywalking. Also, my memory has been affected. I was denied workman compbenefits because my medical records and the damage done was hidden inthe TDA office until Jim Hightower left. There should be restitutionmade to me and my medical providers for the damage done. Luther .FOLLOW UP LETTER TO ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE
The Office of the Attorney General was involved in my case. The Texas Department of Agriculture turned their version of the accident over to your department.A falsified report was turned over to the Workman's Compensation Board. I had Lawyer John Terrill, John Terrill - District Attorney, handling my case, and he never made sure that my evedience of being hurt was turned in correctly. Luther Butler

TPEA got benefits for employees who were hurt on the job. TPEA made no provisions to help the hurt employee get those benefits. The first doctor I went to wrote out, insecticide exposure. Social Security accepted the fact I was hurt by insecticide. Lawyer John Terrill, now District Attorney, kept the case for a length of time and never even made sure the evidence was turned over to the right authorities. I tried my best to get him punished by the State of Texas The lawyer he turned over to the case was at my instigation, debarred. ex-Senator Glasgow interfered so that no lawyer would take the case. The first person an injured state employee should see is a decent lawyer - if one can be found that will take the case. When the State of Texas is dishonest, very few lawyers have a chance of doing anything for the hurt employee. Luther Butler

TPEA is a legislative advocacy organization, we work for pay raises, maintaining health benefits, improving retiree benefits, etc. TPEA has never been involved in providing legal services to our members. In your case, we wouldn't even have legal standing to get involved. You need to consult with an attorney.

DA NGER All states require that a licensed seed laboratory test seed before it is offered for sale. Seed vendors gather a prescribed amount of seed and send it to the lab for analysis. Most seed companies never think about the person doing the test which in the case of small seed, requires that the analysts stick their heads into the pile of seed, and with the aid of a hand lens, minutely examine each seed. If the vendor has used a fungicide or insecticide, this means that the analyst has to breathe the fumes. In the twenty some years that I was employed by the Texas Department of Agriculture, several of my fellow workers were damaged by toxic chemicals. Two fellow analysts in other states died from chemical exposure, and several were seriously hurt.
Since in some cases like me, the reason male seed analysts take the job is because of previous injuries. In my case it was a case of polio while in the Navy. State regulatory agencies do not like to pay Workman’s compensation so the injury is blamed on the previous illness. Most doctors have never studied the effects of farm chemicals on the human body. Since the chemicals can only be detected by sophisticated lab equipment, it is hard to prove what chemical did the damage. Also, most government elected officials are nervous about injuries during their watch, some of the shoddy ones such as former Texas Agriculture Commissioner Jim Hightower, will do and did illegal things to block the injured analyst from getting proper medical attention. In my case shots of anthropene might have burned the Disulfoton out of my system before it had time to tear up my eyes and nervous system, but when my doctor consulted with the Texas Department of Agriculture, he was told that the effects would wear off in a day or two. In a day or two, the Department called back to notifiy that the damage could be permanent.
Short of using methods other than manually examining the seed, I have not been able to think of a way to obtain an analysis. In the lab that I set up and ran for seventeen years, the state spent $10,000 on safety equipment, but when fellow workers left toxic material in wastebaskets, the equipment did not work. Another thought to consider pregnant female seed analysts often work as long as they can before the infant is born. What effects does the seed treatment have on the fetus?

HAPPY EASTER
To a Bluebonnet
Harbinger of spring
Fashion plate with delicate
Blue and White flowers with green leaves.
Ringing out that winter is gone with its
Cruel blast of Arctic wind that rules
The Temperate Zone with numbing freeze.
Delicate flower of the Texas Plain
Growth uninterrupted through the fall and winter rain
Covered in snow but growing on
Until the warm spring days bring forth
Delicate blue and white flowers,
That burst forth in springtime songs
To tell of all the things that are to be...
And of all the things that have been.
Roots nourishing on the decayed bones of buffalo,
Growing in land that was trodden on by hooves of Indian Ponies.
Limestone rock laid under ancient seas.
Flowers of prehistoric times
Surviving through drought, flood, fire...
Plants growing from seed lying in the ground.
Unable to grow until a time determined by nature's law,
Bringing it forth to spring out of the soil.
Delicate flower of thee I sing
Praises on your beautiful frame
That shows forth the work of God.
You who can survive the stress of time
And bloom with brilliance every spring.
Send hope that the human race will also
Survive Atomic bombs, pestilence and flood
To do the work of the Divine
Who was resurrected at Eastertime.

Jeb Bush Renews Calls to Help Schiavo - EarthLink - U.S. News
The Bushs have shown their concern for this poor comatose lady. In calling Congress back into session millions of dollars were wasted. In contrast think of the poor people in the United States who have been cut off of assistance. Think of the children who will go hungry because of the inhuman action of President Bush. Think of the military people who have been killed and injured in the Middle East because of the stupid actions of our President. This is a political move by Bush to capture public support. He cares nothing for the suffering people of the world.

Red Lake, Minnesota
The school shooting in Red Lake, Minnesota was where Nick Fielding in my novel, AIDS, NO PLACE TO DIE, worked one summer while he was in reform school. Red Lake is where he started a half-breed son who was killed by another inmate. Nick's friend, Chief, was from this village, and after WWII, he hoped to return there. Instead while he was in the South Pacific.....buy the book online.

ATLANTA - Shackled and surrounded by 19 officers in a cinderblock jail room, the man accused of overpowering a courthouse deputy and killing a judge and three others appeared Tuesday before a magistrate for the first time since the rampage. MY COMMENT: On the news there was an announcement it would take a month to decide what to charge this monster with. My gut feeling is that they should get a long rope, throw it across the limb of a tall tree, and put this murderer out of his misery. What is there to decide? The man stood in court and shot innocent people. The only possible defense this man's lawyer could make is a plea of insanity. Could this man's actions have been caused by drugs?

Iraq War
(Since the Iraq election the brutality goes on. Perhaps these thoughts that are copied best explain the situation)
To DEBBIE LINCOLN from big mamaFriday, Mar 11, 2005 (12:03:47 am CST)Stephenville Empire Tribune Bulletin board.>>>>> Though force can protect in emergency, only justice, fairness, consideration and cooperation can finally lead men to the dawn of eternal peace: Dwight David Eisenhower : 34th president of the United States, 1890-1969 >>>>>>Eisenhower,in his farewell message January 1961, also warned about the military-Industrial complex. Now almost half of our tax money goes to the mil-Ind complex. You wouldn't think starting wars would be in thier self interest now would you? Of course the people working in the industry need thier jobs but I'm not sure that the jobs can fully justify the cost and the influence that the mil-ind has on our government. The "is any war justified" question is loaded. Of course a war can be justified if all else fails or we are surprise attacked. The invasion of Iraq was unjustified because they were not a threat to anyone, had no WMDs, had done nothing to us and was unable to defend themselves. We were not attacked by Iraq as some believe and some would have you believe. I think dick cheney is still telling that to the true believers but in public he will admit that Iraq did not attack us. The true believers will believe anything as long as it isn't true.

Iraq vote
Give thanks to God that the Iraq vote went well on January 30, 2005. It is too early to tell what effect this will have on the War on Terror, but I hope Bush will start pulling troops out and let the citizens of Iraq handle their own affairs.

DEMOCRACY AND THEOCRACY
Thanks for the comments on my question concerning Theocracy and Demorcracy. Here's another: What is the difference between a Right Wing Theocracy and a Muslim Theocracy controlled by men in turbans? And while I am at it, what is the difference in officials arriving at the inauguration in limos and the lavish display of power Saddam showed during his reign? Bush is determined to take benefits from the masses and give them to the rich and powerful just like Saddam did.

WHOCARES----OH, contraire dear chuckles, it is not I that forgot our past president, I fear you have. Around the world he is still the most popular president in our history, even at the height of the right wing impeachment persecution by starr stooges his approval rating was in the high 70's and he left office with the highest rating in the 20th century. Many republicans wish he was still president and he could win the pres. again if he could run. He oversaw 8 years of peace and prosperity, the greatest economic expansion in our history, crime was down, abortion was down, welfare rolls were down, employment at the highest point in decades and more, all this despite having a backward and ignorant congress to fight him all of the way. He kicked thier sorry butts all over Washington. george w. bush won the popular vote by the smallest percentage by any winner in our history. He won, which is yet to seen, the election for president by 61,000 in Ohio. You remember of course, he didn't win the 2000 election, he was installed by the 5 right wing members of the USSC in an illegal and unconstitution action. They will be remembered in history for this deed. Did you notice that the map of the red states is almost identical to the map of the slave holding states prior to the civil war. Don't bet the farm that democrats won't be elected, there were quite a few elected in strong republican districts around the country. Texas republicans hold every state wide office, they were out of power for 150 years. Pay close attention and you will understand why they were out of power for 150 years and why they will soon be out of power and stay another 150 years. Ignorance is still the best friend of gw bush and the republicans. (Copied from Stephenville Empire Tribune bulletin board)

IRONY IN IRAQ
Luther Butler 1/12/2005 3:47:17 PM
A bit of irony to digest. The Shiite Iraquin Arabs that are backing the election are the more moderate Arabs. They want modern reforms such as legal abortions, women in the work force, and a more liberal view of homosexuals who might spread Aids as opposed to the Fundamentalist Sunnis who backed Saddam. Sunnis are afraid that if there is an election Allah can no longer rule through the religious leaders. Thus, the Fundamentalist Christians won the election in the United States so the United States can put liberals in charge of Iraq. Of course, the way I understand it is that the Sunnis are blowing up the Shiite people that are more inclined to join the police force and the army.

WOW--No WMD's in Iraq and no evidence of plans for any, no connection to the terrorist either? Why did we invade Iraq, destroy it's cities, murder 1000's upon 1000's of it's innocent citizens and cause the death of over 1400 of our own soldiers? I thought our honest moral christian folks would be outraged by these sins but I guess we have no honest moral christian folks or they are as morally corrupt as the adminstration that took this evil action.

Allah is great, Allah is good. Right now, his followers are showing this to be the greatest lie ever told. While those who follow the Christian God give of their money and time to help Muslims who are in great trouble, the followers of Allah continue to blow up their leaders in Iraq. Muslims unite and show your true colors. If Allah is all the things you claim he is, condemn your fellow Muslim terrorists and take your part in saving lives in this great time of trouble. Stop showing that the followers of Allah are cruel demons who have no feelings for the sick and starving.

The past election which was won because of the way voters voted on homosexual marriages and abortions reminds me of the situation during Nazi Germany when the below poem was written.
First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.
Then they came for me,
and by that time there was no one
left to speak up for me.

THE GREAT PECKER CHECKER IN THE SKY
Most men who have served in the Military know what a pecker checker is. Periodically men are lined up and told to unzip their flies and stick their peckers out. Very grave medical people walk with great dignity along the men who are exposing themselves. Before each man the doctors say, "Milk it down." Embarrassed at having to do so, each man pulls back his foreskin and pulls it back. I was told this was done to check for vernal diseases, but I stood a number of pecker checks, and I never saw a man pulled out of the line and told to report to sick bay.
According to some of the modern theologians, on that great day in the sky, God is going to pull a pecker check. Those who haven't used their peckers correctly ain't goin to make it through the pearly gates. The greatest pecker sin a man can commit is to have had sex with another man. The question I have to ask is, "How many of us are going to pass that great pecker check in the sky?" Are all the theologians on TBN going to pass that last day check? From what I hear they can scare money out of their followers here on earth, but whether they pass the end test waits to be seen. I wonder if they shouldn't change their message from saved by grace to KEEP YOUR PECKERS CLEAN.

A FALSE GOSPEL
GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE. - Mark 16:15 is the commission Jesus gave to his Twelve. The following three ministers seem to think the Great Commission is, “Go ye unto all the world and bash homosexuals.” Having forsaken the Gospel of Jesus Christ these three preachers devote a great deal of their time to bashing. All three of these ministers have radio and television ministries that reach millions. All three of these ministers should return to preaching Jesus Christ instead of the hateful sermons they are now spewing out over the airways.
I graduated from Eastern New Mexico University in 1953 with a degree in religious education. After I returned in 1955 from a rough tour of duty in the United States Navy I eventually earned a theology degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Some how I must have missed Homosexual Bashing 101. The main thing I learned was, John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Because of having had polio and a few doses of experimental LSD at Bethesda Naval Hospital, I never got to preach the message of how much God loves the world.
This morning Dr. Ed Young made the statement that only 1% of the citizens of the United States are homosexuals, but he spent sixty precious minutes bashing instead of trying to reach Christian and non-Christians with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I’m thankful that I listened to a Gospel preacher when I was seven years old and accepted Christ as my Savior ‘cause I wouldn’t have been saved from listening to Dr. Young.
The United States faces two big problems today. Number one is the illegal drug problem that is rampant. Number two is the mess that our present president has gotten us into. Perhaps these two problems should be presented after the three of you preach about God’s love manifested through Jesus Christ at Calvary.

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
Darwin wrote a book about the survival of the fittest, and preachers still call him a godless atheist who taught that evolution was a natural process without outside help. It is very doubtful that Darwin was trying to prove there isn't a Divine Being. Whatever, we should take note of his thoughts and try to apply them to our own situation.
OVER POPULATION is causing water and air pollution.
The world is fast becoming vastly over populated. Humans have to have water to survive. Because of the need for water, the world's waterways attract large numbers of people. Large numbers of people have to have a place to dump their waste. Our streams, rivers, marshes, and the oceans are becoming cesspools where organisms that support life cannot survive. Fish, birds and animal populations near heavily populated areas are dangerously low while undesirable water plants and forms of animal life are taking over. In highly polluted streams there are very few fish while turtles bask on fallen logs.
Man and his combustible engines driven by petroleum energy is polluting the air. Whether the earth's atmosphere is warming up because of energy sources is being debated. Whatever the cause, weather on the earth's surface is changing. Certain areas are becoming drier while other areas are becoming wetter. Ice caps are melting causing a rise in the ocean tides. These changes maybe just earth cycles that periodically change, but the matter must be addressed. One thing we do know is that a haze of pollution is coming out of the big cities, and it is affecting life, as we know it on planet Earth.
Agriculture and Urban overuse of chemicals. Animals such as cows, sheep and goats are increasing in vast herds enclosed in small areas. Their waste is being added to the waste created by humans. Agriculture use of chemicals and fertilizer are being added to the pollution. The chemical killing of water life is not restricted to farmers for urban dwellers with their lawns and golf courses are not helping matters at all.
PETROLEUM POLLUTION occurs from the time oil is taken from the ground until it is burned in combustible engines. Those harvesting the earth's riches are not always careful about runoff. Waterways in countries where large amounts of oil are being pumped have to be set afire to burn off the pollution. Whether it is the Arctic wilderness or the Iraq desert, oil production makes the water and land almost sterile. Petroleum reserves are rapidly being used. Probably the thing that might save the world as we know it is when the oil pools dry up, we will have to find another source of energy to keep industry turning. Perhaps a cleaner source can be used. Instead of President Bush throwing money into killing Arabs, perhaps the money could be better spent in developing another source of energy, but trying to tell a fool what to do is almost impossible.
OCEANS ARE DYING. Whether the oceans will become sterile within our lifetimes is debatable. What is not debatable is that the ocean water is daily losing its ability to support any kind of life. Coral reefs are dying at an alarming speed. Only if we can learn to safely farm the oceans can we continue to use them for food.
SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST Returning to the subject that Darwin discussed, we must raise the question, "Can life as we know it survive on planet Earth?" The answer is obvious. We maybe able to intelligently change our lifestyles enough to help preserve a human friendly earth, but the way we are going about it at present makes the saving of living conditions on earth harder and harder to maintain. Whether Earth becomes a sterile planet such as Mars may depend on decisions we make soon. Whether the human species survives may depend upon our actions.
